Dear advanced learning academy Families,
I am writing today to share advanced learning academy celebrations and updates as the new school year quickly approaches.
Along with welcoming students to the advanced learning academy, which number well over 500, we have been busy hiring the exceptional faculty for the new school. We are pleased to share that we have a creative, innovative, and committed group of 37 teachers eager to meet families and to open the school at the end of August. We are planning a back-to-school event in August to give families an opportunity to meet each other along with faculty and staff.
Over the last few weeks, we have also finalized the advanced learning academy website (linked). The website includes the most up-to-date information about transportation, uniform, and after school care. As more elements of the school are designed and finalized, we will add this information to the webpage. I would also like to highlight the “Ms. Bieser’s Blog” tab at the top of the webpage. Throughout the summer and school year, I will share upcoming events and updates through the blog and via email.
As a reminder, if your child is not currently enrolled in a SAISD school or is a non-SAISD resident, you need to complete a registration packet and a non-resident transfer application and agreement with Brandy Cedillo, Fox Tech High School registrar, between the hours of 8:00 am and 4 pm. Please refer to the list below for a complete listing of necessary paperwork:
Parent’s photo ID
Proof of child’s identity and age (Birth Certificate or other)
Child’s social security card, if available (preferred, but not required).
Child’s recent academic records
Proof of residence
Up-to- date immunization records
All of us at the advanced learning academy are excited about the possibilities of the school and the opportunity to make all your wishes and dreams for both your child and the school come true. We are looking forward to a wonderful school year!

ReplyDeleteYes, we will hold our Meet the Teacher Event the Saturday before school starts. Check the text of my blog for more information and more is pending.
DeleteI would like to know when the transportation schedule will be available? The reason for the concern at this time is if the transportation schedule conflicts with my schedule I may need to put my children in the after school care that has limited spots available.

DeleteI'm very excited for my son. I have questions about and computer access and programs which will be available for the 5th grade. I pads, Google chrome, or Windows.
ReplyDeleteOur 3rd-10th grade students will have 1 to 1 access on Dell laptop touchscreen computers while our K-2 students will have 1 to 1 iPads.
DeleteI have so many great memories of attending Stephen F Austin Elementary in the 60's. It's a beautiful landmark and I'm happy it will continue to be used to educate our children!

DeleteHi my daughter will be starting kinder what are school hours? What time is lunch scheduled, for kindergarteners? My only child so not familiar with school hours.
ReplyDeleteWhat time is lunch for kindergarten and what are the school hours?
ReplyDeleteThe school hours at K-3 are 8:30-3:45. The lunch time will vary slightly by day of the week and the child's classroom teacher assignment. We hope to have a schedule posted in the next week or two for families.
